Windows 8 Developer Preview

Hello everyone this is Matt and today I will be giving my point of view on the Windows 8 Developer Preview. I set up the preview on my laptop just a few days ago. I was surprised by the way it preformed. It was smooth and had a good feel to it. Although it was still set up to look like Windows 7 it still had that classic Windows feel. I was really impressed with the way they set up the files and navigation. At the top of each is a new menu style. It has the same look and feel as the menu styles in Microsoft Office 2010. So it is easier to navigate through the files and properties.

Touch screen start menu.
It was a little disappointing that they have not come up with a start menu yet. Instead they are using the touch screen menu until they release the new start menu for Windows 8. If my judgement is correct then I am guessing the it will look similar to the Windows 7 one as well. Although with some of the previews that I have seen it should have it own unique look. Just like the way they have changed the look of the start button. It is no longer the orb that we have become familiar with in Windows 7 and Windows Vista. It is now a black start button that when scrolled over will give the time and date. As well settings and some other features. Until they release a new start menu you can become familiar with the the touch screen one. If you have a Windows phone or an Xbox 360 than you are already use to what it looks like. It is set up exactly the same. You can add and delete many apps and games that you want to install on your computer.

Along with the apps that you install you will see anything that you install on the computer as well. Such as software's and programs that you use on a daily basis. Although I do not like the way that they are organize the them once they are installed. Mainly because there is no organization. Once it is installed it just goes by that order. I am sure that they will come up with a way to organize it later, but for now it is still a little unclear.

Other than that its performance was great. It was fast and easy to use. Even the boot was many times faster. I am sure that is due to the fact that it is still a sort of beta. Later when the product is finished it might be a different story. As for now it was really good. Although I still recommend that everyone wait a little while before they download it. It still has many bugs and is not exactly ready for testing yet. I had many issues with freezing and the explorer not working properly. So wait a few more months until they have things a little more situated. Other than that I will provide a link for you all to download and try it for yourself if you wish. I recommend that you either use a virtual drive or you can try and dual boot it.  I will also leave a link for a great virtual drive program if that is what you want to use. Thanks for reading and have a great day everyone!

Nice review, but to me your judging it based off of the developer's preview. I would rather wait to base it on the actual release. This is in my own opinion.
