Of course with any Linux product you are going to have to know codes. This is where Google and YouTube can become your best friends. I say YouTube because there are many, many, many tutorials that are given on there. While some people may complain that coding is too complicated or is useless I myself found it fun and something different to work with. I had lots of fun messing around with different codes to get the looks and features that I wanted. It was different from what I am use to with Windows. Usually it is just point and click, but with Ubuntu it made changing my computer a lot more fun that with Windows. I could create something unique and amazing from scratch. I am not saying that you cannot do that with Windows I am just saying that when you have to code it it makes you feel like you really know what you are doing and know what you are talking about.
It allows for new challenges and unique looks. In my personal opinion the new version is good, but compared to the later versions it could have been a little more genuine. By this I mean that it could have stuck with a similar platform. I like the taskbar idea, but that should be stuck with Windows rather than on other operating systems. It is more of their kind of thing. I would have loved to see the original taskbar that Ubuntu started with. Also I would have liked it more if you were able to disable or move to where you want. Instead of having on the left pane the entire time. It was hard to get use to it being on the side the whole time. I did like how they do the applications in full screen now. It allows for more focus on what you are doing rather than getting distracted with a bunch of other open windows.
